SMTC - NEW NETWORK IN PROGRESS
MAJOR UPGRADE - Starting This Summer

I am pleased to announce that SMTC will soon commence the first phase of its3-5 year
network modernization plan. With the help of a USDA Rural Development Loan,
SMTC will be more than doubling its investment in "plant in service" over
this time period.  This is the biggest network upgrade in the company's history,
which means "cutting edge" 21st century technology in telecommunications,
available soon to our isolated niche here in rural Montana.
